The Rough Guides - Italy
(Ed. 2011)
This small but extraordinarily popular gelateria, not to be confused with similarly named neighbours, is renowed for making the best ice cream in Tuscany.
Owner Sergio's incomparable pistachio flovour is made from the finest Sicilian nuts, and his trade mark Crema di Santa Fina is perfumed with saffron, but you'd be hard pushed to beat the trio of peach champagne with grapefruit and Vernaccia - a fragrant sorbet made from the crisp local white wine.
